Printer Determination by Plant/Storage Location
In this step, you define per plant and storage location the printer from which an output type is printed.
This is only relevant to output types with print parameter 7.
Example
In plant 0001 and storage location 0001, the goods receipt slips are to be printed from printer LT01.
For output types WE01, WE02, and WE03, you define the entry
Plant 0001 Storage location 0001 -> Output device LT01.Requirements
You can only maintain printer determination for output types with print parameter 7 (plant/storage location). Check on the detail screen for output type whether this is the case.
Activities
- For each output type, define the printer from which a goods receipt/issue slip is to be printed in the plant and in the storage location.
If all output types in a plant/storage location are to be printed from the same printer, you can define a generic entry without indication of output type. This applies to all output types for which no entry has been made.
- Also define an entry without indication of storage location. It applies to goods movements that are entered without a storage location (for example, purchase orders with account assignment).
- Maintain the print parameters as well (for example, instant printout).
Example
In plant 0001 and storage location 0001, the goods receipt slips are to be printed from printer LT01 for all users in the goods receipt area.
In the user master record of individual users, you define parameter ND9 with the value GR AREA.
For output types WE01, WE02, and WE03, you define the entry
Plant 0001 Storage location 0001 Group GR AREA -> Output device LT01.
Plant 0001 Storage location 0001 Group GR AREA -> Output device LT01.
It is also possible to define a separate group for each user.
Requirements
You can only maintain printer determination for output types with print parameter 9 (plant/storage location/user group). Check on the detail screen for output type whether this is the case.
Recommendation
For each output type, maintain an entry without user group so that output is also printed out for users not assigned to any particular group.
Activities
1. Maintain parameter ND9 in the user master record of individual users.
Examples
User MILLERParameter ND9 = GROUP1 (capital letters!)
User JONESParameter ND9 = JONES (capital letters!)
Examples
User MILLER
User JONES
2. For each output type and user group, define the printer from which a goods receipt/issue slip is to be printed in the plant and in the storage location.
If all output types for a user group in a plant/storage location are to be printed from the same printer, you can define a generic entry without indication of output type. This applies to all output types for which no entry has been made.
Also define an entry without indication of storage location. It applies to goods movements that are entered without a storage location (for example, purchase orders with account assignment).
